Calligraphy is more than just "beautiful writing" (the basic meaning from Greek). It exists at the junction of letters and art, whether it be for the creation of "useful" works, such as logos, certificates, and wedding invitations, etc., or for purely "decorative" expressions where letter forms are used as interesting in and of themselves. I enjoy all forms of calligraphy and have studied with some of the best teachers in the field.
